The Feeling Something's Wrong - Rocksound

Skate punk. It's a bit 96 really. All those horse gallop drumming rhythms and faux curdled vocals sung over frantically strummed whiny chords. Do skaters still actualy listen to punk? Does anyone skate anymore? Is anything punk anymore? Brush aside the irritations associated with the genre and you find a tight offering showcasing the talents of an extremely hard working British punk rock band. Pulsing bass, heavy washes of melody and open chords breathe some life into the tired genre as Phinius Gage deftly dodge the trademarks of skate punk titans of tedium Lagwagon, and against all odds deliver an album that is cleverly written, musically well read and easily enjoyable - even when exposed to the ears of the ages cynic. If something is wrong with the scene then it is definitely not the fault of Phinius Gage
